At Southern Acres it is part of our mission that our members become fully devoted followers of Jesus. Simply put, a fully devoted follower of Jesus is a person who desires to look more and more like Him each day. One of the easiest ways to look more like Jesus is by serving. All throughout the gospels we see example after example of Jesus serving people. He said in Mark 10:45, that He came “Not to be served, but to serve.” We hope that same attitude is within those who call Southern Acres their home church, because the ministry of this place is built around volunteers. The word “Volunteer” is one of the most beautiful words in the Southern Acres dictionary, they are people who are willing to get out of their comfort zones and use their gifts to enhance the Kingdom. Each week we count on over a hundred volunteers just to pull off our weekend services.

We have dozens of environments and opportunities for you to use your God-given gifts and talents, from the behind the scenes areas like our tech ministry and building & grounds, to our up-front areas like vocal team or our kids “Joy Junction.” There are ample opportunities to dive in and allow the Lord to use you and grow you. Just take a look through our various areas where we have needs and see if your gifts and passions line up. Remember Jesus said, “The greatest among you will be your servant! (Matthew 23:11)”
